Janet Yellen, Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, has caused us to pay a lot more attention to what is happening in the labor markets. Her speech at the Jackson Hole conference in August focused heavily on conditions in labor markets and some of the statistics she looks at, and the things she seems to be looking for.
