Stocks slumped in late trading Tuesday after earlier rebound attempts gave way. The Nasdaq fell 0.6% to a fresh session low. It also breached its 50-day line. The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones industrial average lost 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively. Volume was tracking lower across the board in the stock market today.
