Stocks turned lower in light trading late Wednesday afternoon. The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 edged down 0.1% while Dow Jones industrial average dipped a fraction. Volume on the NYSE and the Nasdaq was tracking slightly lower than Tuesday’s levels in the stock market today. U.S. Silica Holdings (SLCA) climbed 1% to a new high in heavy volume.
