San Jose, Calif.-based Monolithic Power Systems (MPWR) is showing not only strong profit growth but accelerating growth as well. The chip designer recently posted a second straight quarter of accelerating profit growth. Earnings acceleration, which is a pickup in the rate of growth from one quarter to the next and then to the next, is a trait that distinguishes many stock market winners.
