A new view on algorithmic trading. Developing financial tools and trading systems for clients, we’ve coded several hundred trading strategies. Some fulfilled expectations, others failed miserably. Coming from a background in physics and computer game programming, I wondered why trading seems not to be an exact science. What is the difference between a successful and a doomed strategy? And how can you determine that before actually trading it?

Coming from a background in physics and computer game programming, I wondered why trading seems not to be an exact science. What is the difference between a successful and a doomed strategy? “Kickstarter for investing” was legalized on May 16th, 2016: now, anyone can invest $100 in a startup or local business. Since then, we have become the largest Regulation Crowdfunding platform, with ~75% of the investing volume in the entire industry. We’re about as large as all of competitors combined, five times over.
 
Our goal is to build a new type of stock market (“a NASDAQ for riskier ventures”) that lets markets allocate capital to a wide range of businesses, more efficiently than banks or VC’s.
