On Paris’ architectural standouts, the Centre Pompidou, is set to receive an €100 million (about $106 million) renovation. Both loved and despised by critics and Parisians, the 1977 museum by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers has apparently be long overdue for an update. But don’t worry, the renovation won’t touch the museum’s iconic exterior “caterpillar” escalators, according to Curbed. It will however replace aging pieces of the exterior and refresh the interior.
