It looks like the city of Oakland, Calif. Will be mounting a goal-line defense against Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) and its attempt to lure the NFL’s Oakland Raiders to a new, desert stadium. Just weeks after Nevada legislators signed off on a $1.9 billion proposal to construct a 65,000-seat stadium somewhere in or around Las Vegas as the new home for the professional football team, Oakland is responding by starting the process to construct a new stadium for them.
