Blazed summer retreat to be rebuilt Here’s to more summers on the Westhampton Beach. The Sandpiper, a popular vacation co-op that burned down in April 2015, will soon be rebuilt as a new 50-unit building. The Westhampton Beach Village Planning Board approved the project a few weeks ago, 27East reported. The new Sandpiper will closely resemble its predecessor, according to building and zoning administrator Paul Houlihan.
