Stocks took another stab at their morning highs in late-trading Tuesday. The Nasdaq, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones industrial average were up 0.7%. They had lost some steam following this morning’s news that manufacturing activity unexpectedly contracted in November. Volume was running mixed. Trade was tracking about 4% higher on the NYSE and around 2% lower on the Nasdaq.
