Major averages were still in the red, but rallied off session lows Wednesday as Wall Street digested the minutes from the July 29 Fed meeting. The S&P 500 pierced its 200-day moving average, falling 1.3% early, but recovered for a loss of just 0.3%. The Dow Jones industrial average and Nasdaq gave up 0.2% each. Volume on the NYSE and Nasdaq was tracking well above Tuesday’s levels.
