The stock market held on to most of Friday’s surge in early afternoon trading, as the major indexes gained 1% or more. The Nasdaq was up 1.3%, with solar and techs helping lead the way, while the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones industrial average added 1%. The small-cap Russell 2000 gained 1.1%, and the Dow transports picked up 1.3%. The Philadelphia semiconductor index surged 3%.
