Airlines and railcar makers rallied as stocks held the bulk of their gains in early-afternoon trade. The Dow led with a 1.6% gain, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were up 1.6% and 1.3%, respectively. Volume was tracking lower across the board in the stock market today. Hotel operators, network solutions providers and railcar makers were leading the advance among IBD’s 197 industry groups.
