Hello,
In IB TWS they have a time value column which is displayed as an annualized percentage. This calculation uses all days, not just trading days. (I confirmed with them a moment ago.) So doing it this way, two different expiry’s in the same week appear to have less or more value when they really don’t.
For example. Today is Friday, Monday is a holiday. There are 2 expiry’s next week for the SPY, Wednesday and Friday. Besides today, Wednesday has 2 trading days, and Friday has 4 trading…

Based on interaction with other traders, it seems that futures and forex are more popular than stocks for short-term trading. I am puzzled given that there are thousands of stocks but much fewer futures and currencies. Wouldn’t there be fewer trading opportunities in futures and currencies as a result?

Happy to see ET has offered a refuge for longer term traders – and happy to post up the current guidelines I’m using to set up trend-following trades.
I say current guidelines as they may never be perfect and complete – they are profitable but there’s always room to learn and improve.
However, I’m opposed to indicators that generate an additional chart.
My guidelines use only daily and weekly TF candlestick / bar charts, refer to daily EOD unless weekly is stated.
