Deputy US marshal fatally shot serving warrant to fugitive

A 26-year veteran of the U.S. Marshals service was shot and killed Friday while attempting to make an arrest in Georgia.

Deputy Commander Patrick Carothers, 53, was shot twice while trying to capture Dontrell Montese Carter, a man wanted for attempted murder of police officers, domestic violence and other crimes.
