New home sales numbers from the US Census Bureau
– Prior was 592K (revised to 582K)
– Up 12.4%
– Prior was +3.5% m/m (revised down to +1.7%)
– New home supply 4.3 months vs 4.9 prior
That’s a fresh nine-year high in new home sales in a big beat. The US dollar shrugged it off, however. Probably in part because of the soft Richmond Fed that was released at the same time.
