Michael Bloomberg eviscerated fellow Donald Trump, saying “I’m a New Yorker, and New Yorkers know a con when we see one.”

Vice President Joe Biden soberly warned voters Tuesday about the risks of electing Donald Trump.

Goldman Sachs have increased its forecast for iron ore prices
– Say it will hit $US50 a tonne in 3 months (from $45 previously)
– And trade at $US40 in 6 months ($35 prior)

Export price index up 1% q/q
– expected +3.0%, prior -4.7%
Import price index down 1%
– expected +1.5% and prior -3.0%
AUD/USD not doing too much on this data point, but as I noted earlier today its not usually of much immediate impact. Lower than expected export prices is not a positive for the currency, though.

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta reinforced Hillary Clinton’s position as a warmonger in his speech at the Democratic National Convention tonight. Amid various jabs at Donald Trump, Panetta exclaimed the danger of “withdrawal” of American forces from the world and the apparent need for more status quo interventionism; but the ‘reportedly’ united Democratic convention seemed not to agree.
