Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index tumbled 4.6% in its worst week since mid-February. On China’s mainland, the Shanghai Composite slipped a more mild 0.9%. In Japan, the Tokyo Stock Exchange was on holiday most of the week, but swiped a 3.3% loss trading only Monday and Friday.

Europe’s benchmarks scored a mixed finish Friday, taking hefty losses for the week. The CAC 40 in Paris dumped 2.8%. Frankfurt’s DAX dropped 1.7% and London’s FTSE 100 shed 1.8%.
