U.S. officials and lawmakers urged business leaders on Thursday to get behind a Pacific trade pact as they vowed an all-out effort next year to get the deal through the U.S. Congress. Negotiators from 12 countries sealed the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact, a key plank of U.S. President Barack Obama’s outreach to Asia, in October, but it has so far won a mixed reception in Congress. Senior White House officials told a gathering of top CEOs who advise Obama on trade that they planned an all-out push next year for the TPP, mirroring a campaign for key trade legislation this year.
