Stocks had begun to creep above session lows heading into the final hour of trade on Friday, as weak oil prices continued to suck confidence out of the market. The Nasdaq was down 1.8%, the S&P 500 was 1.6% lower, and the Dow showed a 1.5% loss. Small caps showed some strain, with the Russell 2000 off 1.6%. Volume continued to hold at levels well above action at the same time Thursday.
