A couple of cruise lines were among the stocks making new highs Wednesday, although their breakout attempts proved weak. Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) climbed 1.27 to 99.93, edging past a 100.49 buy point of a flat base but closing below it. Carnival (CCL) inched to a new high but ended up falling 0.19 to 54.08, as it could not quite clear the 54.69 buy point of a short cup-type base.
