Cyber Monday sales top $3 billion as discounts spur buyers
Bigger-than-expected discounts and strong demand for electronics and toys made Cyber Monday the biggest ever day for online sales in the United States, according to the Adobe Digital Index report. Shopping using mobile devices accounted for 26 percent of total online sales, up from 19 percent a year earlier, Adobe’s report said. The average order value from online shoppers was $123.43, down 0.6 percent from last year, IBM said, mainly due to a rise in mobile shoppers.

Crude prices dipped in early Asian trading hours on Wednesday as U.S. stockpiles rose against expectations, compounding a glut that is seeing hundreds of thousands barrels of oil being produced every day in excess of demand. The increase will add to ongoing oversupply which is seeing between 0.5-2 million barrels per day of oil being produced in excess of demand, leading to an over 60 percent price fall since June 2014.
