Speaking at a technology conference organized by The Wall Street Journal in Laguna Beach, Calif., Cook said that an additional 8.5 million people are participating in a free trial of the Apple Music service. “I’m really happy about it, and I think the runway here is really good,” Cook said. Amazon says creating more than 100,000 jobs for holiday season
Amazon has hired more than 25,000 full-time employees since August to prepare for the 2015 holiday season, the company said in a statement. “Following last year’s holiday season, tens of thousands of seasonal employees found regular, full-time roles with Amazon,” said Mike Roth, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations. The company had created 80,000 seasonal jobs last holiday season.

Oil prices rebounded on Tuesday as traders covered short positions after prices fell at least 3 percent in the previous session, but gains were capped by worries about oversupply and the health of the global economy. Brent crude for December delivery had climbed 25 cents to $48.86 a barrel by 12.52 a.m. ET after settling down $1.85, or 3.7 percent, in the previous session. “Short-covering has led to a little bit of a rally,” said Ben Le Brun, market analyst at Sydney’s OptionsXpress.
