Strategic acquisitions of smaller players is helping AmSurg (AMSG) expand its reach. The Nashville, Tenn.-based outpatient surgery center operator last month bought Bay Area Anesthesia in the Tampa Bay, Fla., area, for undisclosed terms. Other Florida buys this year include Coastal Anesthesiology Consultants, Halifax Anesthesiology Associates and Radiology Associates.
