RBS’ preview for Wednesday’s US July durable goods report (due 1230GMT)
“Orders for durable goods jumped in June by 3.4%, driven by a 65.4%
increase in orders for civilian aircraft. Meanwhile, core capital goods
(nondefense capital goods excluding defense and air) rose in June by
0.7%, the best performance in three months. .
According to Boeing, orders for new planes dipped from 161 in June to
101 in July. Defense bookings also could have slipped for a second
straight month,” RBS projects.
