Small caps seem to have an edge in the current stock market. The chart on Page A7 comparing small-cap growth funds vs. big-cap growth funds shows a solid advantage for small caps. The small-cap Russell 2000 confirms the trend. The 2000 is up about 5% year to date vs. 2% for the large-cap S&P 500. Why should this be so? Some market watchers say that the strong U.S. dollar stacks the deck for small caps.
