Stocks finished the year on a low note, as selling picked up near the end of Wednesday’s session. The Nasdaq and the Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.9%, while the S&P 500 slipped 1%. Volume ran higher on the Nasdaq and lower on the NYSE in the stock market today, according to preliminary data. Among IBD 50 stocks, 18 were higher and 31 were lower. The best performer was business software maker Manhattan Associates (MANH), up 2%.
