Stocks recovered somewhat from morning losses to end mixed Monday. The Nasdaq finished down 0.4% while the S&P 500 and the Dow each added 0.1%. Volume in the stock market today was slightly heavier on the NYSE but lighter on the Nasdaq, according to preliminary figures. The Russel 2000 fell 0.8% as small-caps underperformed.
