Singapore-based chip designer Avago Technologies recently expanded its market reach. Traditionally, the company has served three markets — wireless communications, wired infrastructure and industrial. In May, Avago (AVGO) acquired California-based LSI; the acquisition moved Avago into the enterprise storage market. Earnings in recent quarters grew 29%, 39% and 70% from year-earlier periods. Sales rose 23%, 25% and 97%.
