Stock futures sifted deeper ahead of the open in a quiet premarket session Tuesday. Dow futures were down 27.1 points. Nasdaq 100 futures were off 6.6 points, and S&P 500 futures slipped 1.9 points. The stock market today opens with both the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 pulled back in mild consolidations. The Nasdaq is 1.9% off its Sept. 3 high. The S&P 500 is 1.3% below its Sept. 4 high-water mark.
