A longtime IBD staple has just undergone a face-lift. The stock index charts page (see B2 in today’s IBD), called “What’s The Market Trend?,” was reshaped this month with a fresh way to study the market. The basic frame hasn’t changed. Large price-and-volume charts of the major indexes, the IBD Mutual Fund Index and other market data are still there. But the Nasdaq and S&P 500 daily charts are now even bigger.

Trinity Industries (TRN), a maker of railcars, barges and other transportation equipment, is holding above a secondary buy point after easing off Monday’s all-time high. Stock Funds See Aug. Inflow, Reversing July Outflow
Stock fund outflow continued for a second month as investors pulled out a net $6.42 billion in July while the stock market fell. The pullout was more than triple June’s outflow of $2.03 billion, according to the Investment Company Institute. There were indications that the situation improved this month. Mutual funds that invest primarily in the U.S. disgorged $13.75 billion in July, the worst outflow since December 2012’s $26.28 billion.

W.P. Carey has purchased a $47 million office building occupied by Bose, which it will lease back to the stereo maker. It is the latest acquisition by W.P. Carey (WPC), a real estate investment trust (REIT) that specializes in buying corporate and commercial properties and leasing them back to either the former owner or the occupant.
