The only problem is that with about an hour to go, the protesters have filled the streets and are refusing to disperse, even as police in riot gear is present and roadblocks have been setup.

Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez took to Facebook on Saturday to rail against her country’s holdout creditors, calling them greedy and bent on thwarting a solution in order to keep Argentina mired in debt. Fernandez’ post on the social network was her government’s latest acrimonious attack on the bondholders she calls “vultures” following the collapse of debt talks this week that sent Argentine bond prices tumbling. “The main thing with vulture funds is that they don’t want a solution,” Fernandez wrote on her Facebook page.

Europe is Helping Drive the Treasury Yields Lower
The yield on the 10-Year Treasury Note fell to 2.34% this week which is the lowest level in fourteen months. Heavy buying of Treasury bonds in an apparent flight to safety was a big reason for the yield plunge. A bigger reason may have signs of economic weakness overseas, mainly in Europe and Japan. Japan’s economy had a very bad second quarter, which kept pressure on its central bank to keep monetary policy very loose. Japan’s 10-Year yield is the lowest in the developed world at .50%. Bad economic news also came from Europe’s three biggest economies.
