Buyers came into the stock market Monday as geopolitical concerns moved to the back burner — at least for a day. The Nasdaq closed off its high but still turned in a respectable performance, rising 0.7%. The S&P 500 was less impressive with a hesitant gain of 0.3%. It closed near its low after rising 0.7% early. Volume on both exchanges fell from Friday’s levels.
