Stocks were mostly higher Thursday afternoon, with NYSE indexes continuing to lead. The Dow Jones industrial average and the S&P 500 rose 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq continued to waver at the flat line. Turnover was running mixed in the stock market today. NYSE trade was running about 8% higher, while Nasdaq volume was tracking 5% lower. Leaders up or down in heavy volume were few.
