Stocks were mixed Wednesday afternoon, apparently improving on news that Russian President Vladimir Putin pulled back troops from the Ukrainian border. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 0.5%, while the S&P 500 rose 1% and the Nasdaq shaved a 1.5% loss to 1.1%. Volume continued to track sharply higher across the board in the stock market today, especially on the Nasdaq.
